Accessible Alabama is excited to be presenting at the upcoming Alabama disABILITY Conference March 5-7, 2018, in Montgomery, Alabama. We will be presenting on Tuesday, March 6, following Gov. Kay Ivey’s welcome address on Monday, March 5. About our presentation:

Accessible Alabama: the Evolution and Response to Community Living as a Mandate – Dr. Eric Peebles

This presentation addresses the path of the community living movement, discusses the challenges to community living in Alabama. The introduction of a tool that can help individuals and their supports think through the steps for the individual to obtain and maintain life in the community. The Participant will gain knowledge about the evolution of the community living movement participants will share knowledge about the challenges of facilitating community living in Alabama Participants will be introduced to the Accessible Alabama Community Readiness Assessment its utility as a tool beginning a dialogue about needed considerations to promote successful community living for an individual.
